At Inspire Me Equestrian, we believe that great riding is built on more than time spent in the saddle. The strongest partnerships between horse and rider come from understanding how we move, balance and communicate with our horses.
That is why we are excited to welcome EquiStrength to Inspire Me for an exclusive 5-week rider fitness programme, starting 29th August 2026.
EquiStrength specialises in designing strength training programmes specifically for equestrians. EquiStrength combines strength training princicples with the demands of horse riding to help riders develop the physical foundations needed to become stronger, more balanced and more effective in the saddle.
This launch programme will introduce riders to the benefits of rider-specific strength training through focused exercises designed to improve:
EquiStrength is a new venture founded by Izzy Jenkinson to bridge the gap between professional and amateur equestrians by helping riders understand that improving their riding starts with improving themselves. You can read more about Izzy in the section below.
Whether your goal is to compete at a higher level, feel more confident in the saddle, improve your position, or simply become a stronger and fitter rider, EquiStrength programmes provide training designed around the unique physical demands of equestrian sport.
Whatever your discipline:
EquiStrength can help you build the foundations for better riding.
This exclusive 5-week programme is our first collaboration with EquiStrength. This launch course will run outdoors at Inspire Me Equestrian.
There will be two specialist courses available:
Designed for young riders who want to improve their competition performance and develop the physical skills needed to support their riding goals.
This course will focus on helping young riders develop:
✓ A stronger, more secure position
✓ Improved balance and stability
✓ Better coordination
✓ Greater body awareness
✓ Strength through the core and lower body
✓ Improved control and effectiveness in the saddle
Whether you are preparing for competitions or simply want to become a more confident rider, this programme will help you understand how your own strength and movement influence your horse.
Designed for adult riders who want to improve their general fitness, strength and confidence both on and off the horse.
Whether you are returning to riding, ride for pleasure, or regularly compete, this programme will help you develop the physical foundations that support better riding.
You will work on:
✓ Functional rider strength
✓ Core stability
✓ Mobility and flexibility
✓ Balance and coordination
✓ Posture and alignment
✓ Rider confidence
✓ Fitness and stamina
This programme is focused on creating real improvements through consistent training.
By completing the full five weeks, riders should expect to feel:
✓ Stronger and more stable in the saddle
✓ More aware of their own body position
✓ Improved balance and coordination
✓ More confident in their physical ability
✓ Stronger through the key muscles used when riding
✓ More effective in their communication with their horse
Every rider starts from a different place, and results will vary depending on commitment, consistency and individual goals.
The aim is not to create gym fitness.
The aim is to create stronger riders.
EquiStrength was founded to combine a passion for equestrian sport with the principles of strength training.
Sessions are delivered by Izzy, a passionate equestrian, qualified personal trainer and the founder of EquiStrength.
Many of our Inspire Me customers will already know Izzy. She has grown through the Inspire Me Equestrian journey, progressing as a rider, learning within our community and gaining experience working alongside the team.
We are incredibly proud to support Izzy as she takes the next step in her equestrian career and launches her own enterprise.
Alongside her Level 3 Personal Training qualification, Izzy holds:
She currently works on a small dressage competition yard, where she is being mentored to train horses using the principles of classical dressage.
With over 10 years of riding experience, from youngsters through to experienced ex-Grand Prix schoolmasters, Izzy understands the physical demands of equestrian sport from both a rider and trainer perspective.
Izzy's own fitness journey began at 16 when she wanted to take her riding to the next level.
Working with a personal trainer helped her understand how developing her own strength could improve her riding, helping her create a more secure seat, stronger position and greater stability through her lower leg.
That experience inspired her to become a qualified personal trainer so she could help other equestrians train in a way that directly benefits their riding.
EquiStrength was created from that passion.
The programmes designed by EquiStrength are created for riders who understand that becoming a better rider involves developing themselves as well as their horse.
This is not a riding lesson.
This is not a general fitness class.
This is a rider-specific strength programme designed to complement your riding by improving the physical skills that influence your performance in the saddle.
You do not need previous fitness experience.
Beginners are welcome.
Exercises will include easier and harder options so each rider can work at a level appropriate for them.
