Our Equestrian Home Education Course offers home-educated children a unique opportunity to combine hands-on horse care with structured learning, aligned with the BHS Challenge Awards. Each 2-hour session develops confidence, responsibility, and practical skills in a safe, outdoor environment.

Course Structure

• 🐴 45-minute riding lesson led by qualified instructors

• 📚 1 hour 15 minutes of practical, non-ridden learning covering horse care, handling, and stable management

What Your Child Will Learn

• Knowing Your Horse: Identification, anatomy, health checks, feeding, fitness, and daily care

• Handling Your Horse: Yard safety, leading, tying up, tack cleaning, and correct use of headcollars

• Caring for Your Horse: Behaviour, grooming, rugs, stable and field care, and after-exercise routines

• Lungeing Your Horse: Purpose, equipment, tacking up, safety, and basic technique

• Cost is £38 per session - as term lengths vary so does the price of the course
